Abstract

A new book on the Vulgate of Jerome invites to in-depth discussion and analysis. “Language and environment of the Vulgate” will be published by de Gruyter Verlag in the year 2023. Numerous authors comment on the interdisciplinary breadth and depth of this Bible, which is groundbreaking for Christianity. They take on from their own point of view obvious, but also specific topics from the translation of Jerome. An in-depth and open discussion about further content-related impulses is definitely welcome.
